How to do the Barbell Standing Close-Grip Curl

  1. 1Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and grasp the barbell with a close grip (hands closer than shoulder-width apart).
  2. 2Keep your elbows close to your torso and your back straight.
  3. 3Curl the barbell upward by contracting your biceps, keeping your upper arms stationary.
  4. 4Continue to lift the barbell until your biceps are fully contracted and the bar is at shoulder level.
  5. 5Hold the contracted position for a brief pause.
  6. 6Slowly lower the barbell back to the starting position, fully extending your arms.
