- 1Stand a few feet in front of a flat bench with a dumbbell in one hand.
- 2Place the top of one foot on the bench behind you.
- 3Hold the dumbbell with the opposite hand of the leg that is on the bench.
- 4Lower your body by bending the front knee and hip.
- 5Keep your torso upright and the knee of the front leg in line with your foot.
- 6Push through the heel of the front foot to return to the starting position.
