How to do the Barbell Front Squat (From Blocks)

  1. 1Set the barbell on the blocks at shoulder height.
  2. 2Position yourself under the barbell with your feet shoulder-width apart.
  3. 3Grip the barbell with your hands just outside of your shoulders.
  4. 4Lift the barbell off the blocks and step back slightly.
  5. 5Keep your chest up and core engaged.
  6. 6Lower your body into a squat position by bending your knees and hips.
  7. 7Descend until your thighs are parallel to the ground.
  8. 8Push through your heels to return to the starting position.
